He has participated on the boards of various organizations including St. Vladimir Institute in Toronto, Ontario, serving as its President.He worked as an editor at the Encyclopedia of Ukraine and then in Ukraine for almost 10 years, initially with the Soros Foundation, and then on several Canadian funded technical assistance projects. Since 2001 he has worked full time with Northland Power, including two years in London, Great Britain, where he established a European office. He is currently Vice President of Development.Boris has a long history with the Foundation, serving on the Board from 2002-2015, and returning in 2019.He was appointed as the Foundations representative to the Canadian First World War Internment Recognition Fund in 2020.Understanding the importance of sharing the richness of Ukrainian culture and the unique Ukrainian Canadian experience with all Canadians, I believe that the Shevchenko Foundation is the organization best placedin the Ukrainian community to achieve this goal.- Boris Balan4 ShevchenkoFoundationAnnualReport/'
