Individuals in the arts and smaller organizations in the Ukrainian Canadian community are experiencing significant challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. There are difficulties with respect to: creating and delivering programming, engaging membership, volunteers, and audiences in the face of reduced physical contact, and generating income from membership dues, virtual public events or other traditional sources.
The Shevchenko Foundation has heard the challenges many of you in our community are facing. We share your concern about short-and medium-term financial needs, and the effect of unexpected expenses. We would like to help.
We are offering one-time grants of $500 to smaller organizations (with an operating budget of less than $100 thousand dollars) and to individuals to help with creating and delivering programming, building capacity to meet financial challenges, or enhancing digital platforms to reach audiences and supporters. Applicants can apply for 100% of proposal costs
For example, these grants can be used for such things as helping to pay rent for other than residence spaces, internet upgrades and computer software, hiring a facilitator for strategic planning, configuring space in compliance with regional COVID-19 protocols, keeping audiences engaged virtually, and other needs you may identify.
