The Shevchenko Foundation believes it is beneficial for young Ukrainians displaced in Canada by the war to attend educational, cultural, or recreational Ukrainian Canadian arts and heritage programming in Canada. Participants have an opportunity to advance their learning, and sustain and share their cultural values in an enjoyable and supportive environment.

Through a generous donation of $100,000 from the Temerty Foundation, the Shevchenko Foundation has set aside $180,000 to support Ukrainian Canadian community arts, recreational and educational organizations (including youth organizations, arts schools, Ridni Shkoly), as well as education providers offering Ukrainian language and cultural instruction K-12.

Grants up to a maximum of $7,500 per organization or school are available for such things as instrument rental, specialty footwear, art and teaching supplies, uniforms, etc.

Applications will be assessed by the Shevchenko Foundation monthly until the dispersal of the Instructional Resources for Ukrainian Canadian Arts and Education Organizations funding is completed.

NOTE: Performance resources such as costuming and registration fees are not eligible
