The Shevchenko Foundation recognizes arts and heritage organizations that are seeking creative opportunities to engage displaced adults from Ukraine in their operations and programming to enrich our Canadian cultural experiences.

Grant support provides opportunities for organizations to engage displaced adults, aged 18 and over, in mutually beneficial self-defined projects. Here are some examples to inspire you to think about the kinds of self-defined projects you might undertake:

  • Creating a co-teaching relationship between a Canadian arts organization and a Ukrainian adult arts teacher;
  • Engaging the services of a Ukrainian heritage or arts specialist in curating an exhibition or assisting in the delivery of workshops;
  • Engaging a dance specialist to enhance learning requirements for a Ukrainian Canadian dance company.

Organizations can apply for varying amounts, up to a maximum of $2,000 per any one applicant organization.

Applications will be assessed by the Shevchenko Foundation on a monthly basis until dispersal of the Self-Defined Arts & Heritage Projects for Displaced Ukrainian Adults funding is completed.

Requirements for Application Assessment
