The Shevchenko Foundation believes it is beneficial for young Ukrainians displaced in Canada by the war to feel the support and comfort of our community, as they deal with the trauma they have endured.

We are awarding grants to Ukrainian Canadian community charities and not-for-profits to offset the costs of recreational and arts programming associated with enabling displaced Ukrainian youth to participate in summer programs.

Maximum grant amounts available are based on the number of displaced children participating:

  • Up to 15 children – Maximum grant amount $2,000
  • 16 – 50 children – Maximum grant amount $3,500
  • Over 50 children – Maximum grant amount $5,000

Organizations and collectives can apply for amounts up to the maximum allowable for any one applicant organization.

Applications will be assessed by the Shevchenko Foundation on a monthly basis.

Requirements for Application Assessment

  • a letter stating the reasons for the requested funding assistance (include the type of programming you are providing, the number of participating displaced youth, the time-period of instruction);
  • financial statement adopted by AGM;
  • an interim budget for the project with projections and actuals;
