With organizations such as Rozmova Book Club and the Kule CentreCanadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies, University of Alberta, and individuals such as Folk Songs of Ukraines Marichka Marczyk, we discovered unique aspects of our cultural heritage that we could share with the community, said Daria. The support of the Shevchenko Foundation was instrumental in helping us explore new topics and engage exciting guests. Most of the events were free of charge, although fundraisers were also part of the programming mix. As the community slowly returns to in-person events, SVI will be looking for ways to strike a balance between hosting events at its prime downtown facility while offering a virtual component for those who have now gratefully discovered a way to stay connected. We are proud to have partnered in this success story.
