Dear friends of the Shevchenko Foundation,
A koliada – the Ukrainian term for “carol” – is so much more than a “joyful song” we sing at Christmas. A koliada is familiar; it is a tradition that reminds us of the bond we share with our family, friends, and community. And it always evokes such wonderful memories and emotions! Do you remember how much fun you had the last time you went carolling?
Koliady also tell such beautiful stories heralding the Birth of Christ and the joy of shared experiences, reconnecting us with our roots and bringing us together in song and celebration.
As we launch our 2021 Koliada Campaign, the Shevchenko Foundation shares its carol with you – our donors and partners. Through your generosity, we fund the community organizations and artists that tell our Canadian story. Their success in the arts, community development, heritage preservation, and education is part of your legacy. And our partnership with you in raising the profile of Ukrainian culture in Canada builds the legacy of the Foundation.
During this Christmas season, as we focus on the charities dear to our heart, we trust that the Foundation will once again find a place in your year-end giving. There are many ways to donate – whether it’s a one-time gift, monthly giving, or a gift of securities, we can help you find the way that works best for you and your family.
Remember, there are many great Canadian stories to tell and we want to be able to share them all. But we can’t do it without you.
