6th Annual Children’s Bookmark Contest

Celebrating the work of Taras Shevchenko and encouraging a new generation of visual artists 

The Shevchenko Foundation is delighted to announce the 6th Annual Children’s Bookmark Contest! This year’s contest invites children to create a bookmark inspired by an excerpt from Son (The Dream).

This is a fantastic opportunity for children to explore Ukrainian literature and express their artistic talents. One winner from each province and territory will be awarded a $30 prize, and the bookmarks will be showcased by TSF.

• Nurture artistic skills and a passion for reading
• Connect with Ukrainian culture through Shevchenko’s captivating verses

Contest highlights

• Open to young creatives up to age 14
• Entries must feature original artwork created using any medium and based on the imagery of the selected poem
• One winning entry per province and territory will receive a $30 prize
• Winning entries will be featured on our website and social media channels
• Artwork must be accompanied by an Entry Form
• Entries must reach TSF no later than 5 pm CT on April 13, 2026

Користайте з творчої можливості, беручи участь у 6-му щорічному конкурсі Шевченківської фундації дитячих закладок. Конкурс присвячений творчості поета Тараса Шевченка. Запрошуємо учасників до виготовлення закладок, на яких зображено зміст уривка вірша «Сон».

Чому брати участь?

• Виробляти художні здібності та любов до читання.
• Наблизитися до української культури через вірші Тараса Шевченка.

Про конкурс

• Для молодих художників віком до 14 років.
• Очікуємо оригінальні твори, які зображують зміст поеми.
• Нагороду в сумі $30 отримає один переможець у кожній провінції або території.
• Закладки переможців будуть висвітлені на комунікаційних мережах Фундації.
• До мистецтва приєднати реєстраційну форму.
• Шевченківська фундація мусить одержати закладки не пізніше 13 квітня 2026 р.
