Through the World Wars and other past and current global conflicts, Canadians have laid down their lives defending the principles of freedom and democracy. Today, on Remembrance Day, we honour the memory of those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty and we vow never to forget their courage and selflessness.
We pay tribute to all Ukrainians who served in the Canadian and other armed forces, securing a brighter future for generations to follow.
We also remember the sacrifices of the Ukrainian armed forces as they continue to fight an aggressor on their native soil.
To all who continue to serve, we say thank you – for safeguarding peace while ensuring a better, safer world.
