Roman Soltykevych

Roman is Manager of Technology Strategy at TELUS Corporation and has been licensed as a Professional Engineer with APEGA since 2015. He currently leads the SmartHome Security DevOps team, ensuring that TELUS delivers the best experiences to their Consumer Solutions customers through the development of next-generation technologies for the connected home and business.

Passionate about continuous learning, peer networking, mentoring, personal development, and community involvement, Roman was elected as President of the TELUS Engineering Community in 2022. Reporting to the CTO of TELUS, he oversees the TELUS Engineering Community’s internal development opportunities and external partnerships for over 1,400 engineers and technologists at TELUS.

Outside of the office, Roman has been a long-time performer within Alberta’s fine arts community as the piano accompanist for the Ukrainian Male Chorus of Edmonton, and as an alumnus of the Volya Ukrainian Dance Ensemble. He is passionate about advancing the interests of the Ukrainian community in Canada and abroad through his volunteer work with the UFest Edmonton Ukrainian Festival, Plast Ukrainian Youth Association, the Ukrainian Canadian Students’ Union, and as an election observer in Ukraine. Roman is a recipient of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress – Alberta Provincial Council’s Hetman Award.
