Life Insurance

Life Insurance as Part of Your Legacy

Life insurance can be a simple and meaningful way to support The Shevchenko Foundation, often without affecting your day-to-day finances. It allows you to make a lasting gift in support of Ukrainian culture, education, and community.

Why Life Insurance?

A gift of life insurance lets you create a future impact at a relatively low cost today. For many supporters, it is a flexible and tax-effective way to give more than they may be able to during their lifetime.

Ways to Give

  • Name the Foundation as Beneficiary. Designate The Shevchenko Foundation as the full or partial beneficiary of an existing policy. Your estate may receive a charitable donation tax credit.
  • Transfer Ownership of a Policy  You may transfer ownership of an existing policy to the Foundation. You may receive a charitable tax receipt for the policy’s value and for future premium payments you continue to make.
  • Purchase a New Policy  You can take out a new policy with the Foundation named as owner and beneficiary. Premium payments are generally eligible for charitable tax receipts.

Easy to Arrange

Gifts of life insurance are straightforward. Simply speak with your insurance advisor or financial professional and complete the required forms.

There is no single right way to plan — only what feels right for you and your family. We encourage you to speak with a financial or tax advisor about how life insurance giving may fit into your estate plan.
