Ukrainian Day in the Park festival is a high-profile annual Ukrainian Canadian cultural event in Saskatoon that appeals to tourists and the public at large. Since 2001, it’s been the largest Ukrainian summer festival in the Saskatchewan. Its mission is to develop and present a community event that celebrates the diversity, richness and value of Ukrainian Canadian culture.
This vibrant event that began as a float in a parade features a variety of activities and performances, including:
- Traditional Music and Dance: Performances by Ukrainian dance ensembles and musicians, showcasing traditional folk dances and music.
- Food: A range of Ukrainian culinary delights such as perogies, borscht, and sausages, offering attendees a taste of authentic Ukrainian cuisine.
- Cultural Displays: Exhibits and displays that provide insights into Ukrainian history, art, and crafts.
- Family Activities: Interactive activities and games for children and families, promoting engagement with Ukrainian culture in a fun and educational way.
