We’re excited to unveil the 2025 Shevchenko Foundation Christmas Card!
The work titled Snowy Christmas Eve in Kyiv (Засніжений Київ у Свят-Вечір) was created by Pickering, Ontario, artist Christine Kotowycz.
An author and illustrator of children’s stories, Christine’s latest illustrations have evolved from traditional media to a blend of drawing and collage. The collage process resembles the quilting and fabric collages with which the artist has been experimenting.
Christine has always had a love for patterned fabrics and she has now discovered the beautiful Japanese Chiyogami silkscreen papers, which allow for the unique and unexpected juxtaposition of colours and patterns.
The annual TSF Christmas Card is distributed to thousands of donors nationwide who, in turn, send them to friends and family worldwide. The winning design is selected from original Ukrainian Christmas-themed artwork submitted by Canadian artists.
