APPOINTMENT OF NEW CHAIR OF THE ENDOWMENT COUNCIL OF THE

CANADIAN FIRST WORLD WAR INTERNMENT RECOGNITION FUND (CFWWIRF)

The Board of Directors of the Ukrainian Canadian Foundation of Taras Shevchenko, Shevchenko Foundation, is pleased to announce the appointment of Borys Sirskyj (Ottawa) as Chair of the Endowment Council of the Canadian First World War Internment Recognition Fund

Mr. Sirskyj is retired from a lengthy career in the Federal Government, most recently within the Solicitor General’s Department, and previously as Executive Assistant to Senator Paul Yuzyk. He studied Philosophy and Political Studies, earning an MA in Political Studies from McMaster University. With lengthy service within such Ukrainian Canadian organizations as Plast Ukrainian Youth Association, the Ukrainian Canadian Congress, the Canadian Bandurist Capella, and others, Mr. Sirskyj brings a wealth of community and organizational experience to the position.

The Shevchenko Foundation also announces the appointment of Ms. Carola Lange (Winnipeg) to the Endowment Council, representing the German Canadian Congress.

Ms Lange is the current President of the German Canadian Congress, National Office, and has served as the Vice President for the German Society of Winnipeg. She currently works at the University of Manitoba in the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences.
