The Ukrainian Canadian Foundation of Taras Shevchenko is proud to announce the appointment of Oryssia Lennie, CM to its Board of Directors.

Oryssia Lennie

Oryssia Lennie has a wealth of professional and volunteer leadership experience.  She had an extensive career in the federal and Alberta public services, where she held executive positions including Deputy Minister, Western Economic Diversification, Government of Canada, and Deputy Minister, Federal and Intergovernmental Affairs, Government of Alberta.

During and since her retirement from government service, she has been actively involved in numerous non-profit public policy and community boards such as the University of Alberta Board of Governors, MacEwan University Board of Governors, United Way, Habitat for Humanity, the Canada West Foundation and the Edmonton Symphony.   She was named to the Order of Canada in 2016 for her outstanding contributions.

Ms Lennie is actively involved with the Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral of St. John in Edmonton and with the local branch of the Ukrainian Women’s Association.

The Shevchenko Foundation Board of Directors is now comprised of Andrew Hladyshevsky, Q.C. (Edmonton) – President, Irka Mycak (Toronto) – Vice-President, Scott Armstrong (Winnipeg) – Secretary-Treasurer, Adrian Boyko (Saskatoon), Gordon Gordey (Edmonton), Lidia Narozniak (Hamilton), Orest Sklierenko (Toronto), and Oryssia Lennie (Edmonton).
