The Shevchenko Foundation stands with Ukraine – the foundation of our strength, passion, and creativity!
– TSF President Boris Balan

March 3, 2022

Dear Friends,

As we were finalizing our mailing for the month of March, the people of Ukraine were brutally invaded by an aggressor determined to decimate the independent, sovereign Ukrainian state and all that it represents – the Ukrainian culture and identity.

We are heartened by the support for and solidarity with the people of Ukraine being expressed by Ukrainians and Canadians nationwide – organizations, businesses, and citizens of all nationalities, from all walks of life.

We gratefully acknowledge the firm position of the Canadian government in support of Ukraine.

Our prayers remain with the people of Ukraine, and we share the grave concern of Canadians who are separated from their family and friends in Ukraine.

We cannot foresee what the world will be facing when you read this letter. But an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe is unfolding before our eyes by the minute and the need to support the people of Ukraine is and will remain urgent.

The Shevchenko Foundation stands with Ukraine – the foundation of our strength, passion, and creativity! May the prophetic words on the enclosed bookmark serve as inspiration for remaining engaged in support of democracy, freedom, and human dignity; in support of a peace-loving Ukrainian people that aspires only to be Ukrainian on its native Ukrainian land.

May God protect Ukraine and the Ukrainian people!

Glory to Ukraine! Glory to its Heroes!

Sincerely,

Boris Balan, President
